Projection
A Short Film
|
Projection is the result of one 3.5 minute
role of super 8mm film. My newly purchased Canon XL 514 (an extremely
popular super 8 camera from the late 1970's) did the job. It comes with a
1.14 size lens aperture; macro and manual zoom. That's how I got the super
close-ups of my fingers.

The 514 XL shoots with single frame as well, which is how I got the time lapse effect of XZanthia (Projection's one groovy/alternative actress) and the fast -- back and forth -- action of the vine-covered dwelling. Besides, this version of the 514 XL shoots with 9 frames as well as 18 (others have 18 frames as well as 24) The 9-frame option allowed for the fast motion effect. |
