I was most fortunate to have been permitted to filmed Kan'Nal. The footage I captured was from two shows at the Bluebird Theater in the summer of 2007, and one show at the Boulder Theater in the Spring of 2008. In addition to that, I filmed Chelsea, the magnificent woman with the super 8mm camera. Her participation allowed the action to be taken off the stage, thus offering more flavor and creating a story, complimenting the incredible sound of "Desert Flower." |
I used a super 16mm Bolex camera and some super 8mm footage, which was suppose to convey what Chelsea was filming in the desert and on stage. In fact, Chelsea did actually film a portion of Kan'Nal as they performed Desert Flower...I needed to cover as many angles as possible so that the band's actions would match the music. That is, we used real film with no sound, and the music was dubbed in later, which is pretty obvious and I mention it here only for the record. This film is a work in progress and I hope to capture more footage of Chelsea's trip with the desert flower and also film as much of the band as possible in the desert utilizing stop motion, animation, and meditation...Yaaay!!!
