Bark of the Tree was suppose to have been released on the
Internet during the summer of 2005. I have never had such trouble with a short
film. At one point, I didn't feel the universe was with me...it was as though
the film were cursed, somehow. After many failures to burn a DVD, I finally
got it done, and showed the film around Denver, and to many Denver Public School
high school students. It was basically a huge hit. So much so, the film
instructor at East high School screened the film to his film students, and the
cinema instructor at Denver School of the Arts did likewise.
Yup, kids and alternative adults dig this flick. But it must be said, quiet
conversely, that it's a real "cheese-ride." Some mainstream demographics
embraced the film, however, exactly because of the extensive B movie slapstick
horror. Bark of The Tree is corny enough, I admit. But, as usual, I have
incorporated a light at the end of the dark tunnel.
I could never post the film onto the Internet. My old and troubled computer
simply would not allow for a good export. Now, after a special visitation from
the "Geek Squad" (computer doctors, ya'll!) It's finally up. Getting the film
transferred from my problematic pc to my new and very suitable Macintosh
computer shall be the final step. Then I may incorporate the film with the
official release of a groovyfilms.biz 2006 compilation.
Thanks for your support. Peace, John. 11-29-06 |
